If you meet the language and academic requirements, you can apply directly to one of the degree programs at West Virginia University. This is an excellent opportunity for students who speak English as a first language or with high IELTS or TOEFL scores to attend the University.

English Language proficiency can be demonstrated by one of the following:

  • 61 Overall TOEFL
  • SAT Reading Test 20.0
  • ACT English 19

A passing grade in the subject of English on the IGCSE Certificates from Cambridge International Student home country is one of the following and native language is English: Australia, Bahamas, Belize, British Territories, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom

2.5 US GPA

Some colleges and programs have additional admission standards that exceed the requirements for admission to WVU. Also, some Engineering majors may reach capacity and therefore will be restricted from entry. Please note: Admission to the University does not ensure admission into a specific school or college.

WVU is in Morgantown, a small college city with a friendly spirit. Located on the banks of the Monongahela River, the University has a strong relationship with the city and its sports teams are proudly celebrated state-wide.

West Virginia is perfect for adventure activities with beautiful mountains and wild rivers to explore. The Mountain State has it all: skiing, white water rafting, hiking, rock climbing. If you prefer to travel to cities on your weekends, you can easily take a road trip to Pittsburgh, PA, Washington D.C., Cleveland and New York City.
